God Wants You to Have Really Big Faith

God loves us so much that He wants us to have really big faith in His ability of care for us and provide everything we need. So, I'm sharing Rev's message about having big faith in a really big God.

How would you describe your faith? Would you describe yourself as having really big faith?

Recently, I thought about my faith and the content of my prayers.

My prayers tend to be short-sighted and focused on my temporary needs.

  • Lord, please help me get to my destination safely.
  • Please bless my doctor or dentist appointment.
  • Please fix my circumstances.
  • Please give me __________.

Here are some of Rev’s thoughts…

God Wants Us to Have Really Big Faith

Our wants will ALWAYS … I’ll say it again, ALWAYS … be short-sighted. We don’t have enough information. Only God Himself sees it all, and His greater interest is to overwhelm us with the power of His grace, mercy, and love.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Ephesians 3:20

It’s easy for us to think that we need more than God can provide. But God is so big. There is no way He wants us to settle for anything less than what He KNOWS is best.

The truth is…

God’s giving is not limited by our asking, although He wants nothing more than for us to be bold and persistent with our prayers. He wants us to pray with really big faith.

His love is so deep that He may choose not to change our circumstances because He has a bigger and better plan for us. A plan that includes increasing our faith.

Paul wrote the following in his letter to the Ephesians…

[I pray] your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Ephesians 3:17b–19

It can be hard to accept that our current circumstances may really be part of God’s plan when we’re waiting.

Especially when the thing for which we are pleading is something good…

  • A child, spouse, restored relationship, home, job, friend, or healing.
  • Relief from depression, anxiety, fear, or worry.
  • Or peace, contentment, and hope.

When we don’t understand. When the wait goes on longer than we want.

We can enjoy hard-to-understand peace when we remember…

With God, everything is possible! His plan for us is eternal!

Author John Snyder wrote…

God is never in the position of wringing His hands in confusion; He’s never surprised at what occurs on earth; He’s never wondering what to do next.

He has big plans because He wants us to have really big faith in Him through Jesus…

Who died to set us free from our sins.

Christ made us right with God; He made us pure and holy, and He freed us from sin.

1 Corinthians 1:30b

Who willingly takes our burdens, losses, and worries.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Who has a plan to work everything for our good and His glory.

The Spirit is God’s guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify Him.

Ephesians 1:14

We can trust Him. Even when our pain is intense and our longing immense. God has grand plans, and He is capable of accomplishing them … all while growing really big faith within us.

God loves us so much that He wants us to have really big faith in His ability of care for us and provide everything we need. So, I'm sharing Rev's message about having big faith in a really big God.

Let’s pray…

A Prayer to Trust God for Really Big Faith

Heavenly Father, I think about the times Jesus challenged His followers with the Words, “You have so little faith.” Times when they were worried or afraid. Times when they looked at spiritual matters through worldly eyes.

I remember He said that faith the size of a mustard seed could move mountains. That sounds like it doesn’t take much faith to accomplish great things, and I realize that’s because our faith is in a really GREAT God.

Like followers and disciples long ago, I know I have moments when I have “little faith.” I can let my fears, worries, frustrations, and lack of understanding take over my mind. I’m so sorry, Lord.

On those occasions, please bring me to my knees in prayer. Prompt me to bring every burden and care to You, trusting that You alone can do the impossible in my life.

I give myself to You and ask that the Spirit will give me really big faith as I spend time in Your Word and prayer. I pray that You will give me what I need to hold Your promises in my heart and mind. May I use them to resist the enemy’s lies and make him retreat.

I love You, Father. I love Jesus and the Spirit. Please remove anything in my life that keeps me from KNOWing, LOVING, and TRUSTing You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God loves us so much that He wants us to have really big faith in His ability of care for us and provide everything we need. So, I'm sharing Rev's message about having big faith in a really big God.

Here are several quotes to encourage our really big faith…

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Galatians 2:20

“Faith is to believe what we do not see, and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe.” Augustine

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

Hebrews 11:1

“We can let go of burdens like condemnation and worry, perfectionism and insecurity. And we can cling desperately—even through tears—to the assurance that God knows, He cares, and He loves us with an infinite love. We can lay our burdens at the feet of Christ and receive what He offers instead.” —Sarah J. Hauser

May the Lord, who loves with infinite love, give you everything you need to SEEK, KNOW, LOVE, TRUST, and OBEY Him. May He bless you with really big faith.

We would love to pray for you.
