12 Beautiful Blessings Found in the Presence of Jesus

I’m more like Martha than Mary.

I want to be more like Mary. I want to be the one content to sit quietly in the presence of Jesus.

Jesus went into a town. A woman named Martha let Jesus stay at her house. Martha had a sister named Mary, who was sitting at Jesus’ feet and listening to Him teach. But Martha was busy with all the work to be done. She went in and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me alone to do all the work? Tell her to help me.”

But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things. Only one thing is important. Mary has chosen the better thing, and it will never be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:38-42 (NCV)

But too often, I’m more like Martha than Mary.

Maybe you’re more like Martha, too.

I’m trying to be more like Mary. I want “those better things that will never be taken away,” blessings that can only be found in the presence of Jesus…

Jesus said, "I am with you always." What does it mean to live in the presence of Jesus? What are the benefits and blessings of living in His presence. Here are 12 blessings we when we trust Jesus.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. 2 Thessalonians 2:16–17

A Prayer to Be Content in the
Presence of Jesus

Lord, I am so prone to living with the busyness of Martha rather than the peaceful rest of Mary. I look for the approval of people over the blessings of being in Your presence. Please forgive me.

Father, I want to be fully content in the presence of Jesus. You sent Him to show the greatness of Your love through His life, death, and resurrection. He touched and changed lives while He lived among us and He continues to touch and change lives today.

Through Him, we go from the bondage of sin and death to the freedom of forgiveness and life … real and lasting life. Because of Jesus, we can experience peace and rest … purpose, joy, courage, hope, and love.

By grace, I am never alone. I have the assurance that You are with me always now and forever.

Nothing I do or say can sufficiently thank You; so, I give myself to You. I surrender my time, thoughts, words and actions, health, and everything I own. I give You my heart … my all.

I love You, Lord. By Your grace and the power of Your Spirit, I can live in the presence of Jesus and that changes everything. I thank and praise You now and forever. Amen.

Max Lucado wrote…

“We (Christians) are always in the presence of God. There is never a non-sacred moment! His presence never diminishes. Our awareness of His presence may falter, but the reality of His presence never changes.”

So, may we pause to remember how very blessed we are … as God’s children we live every moment in the presence of Jesus. May we quietly spend time sitting at His feet.

We would love to pray for you.
